Almshouses

Lady Frances Wray erected the six tiny Almshouses in the reign of Queen Elizabeth 1. In 1969 they were rebuilt to form four slightly larger dwellings. Although small by modern standards, each one provides a cosy home for each of the residents. In the past ten years a number of major improvements have taken place including double glazed doors and windows, new galley kitchens and fully tiled wet rooms installed.

The most recent initiative has been the provision of a laundry room having converted the defunct toilet block. Each resident is able to keep a washer/dryer and a small upright refrigerator for their own use.
