Ashby cum Fenby

Ashby Cum Fenby is a little gem of a village, six miles South of Grimsby, nestled at the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds in the Waltham ward of North East Lincolnshire with a population of 249, according to the 2011 Census.

The village boasts a small but beautiful Anglican Church dedicated to Saint Peter. The church has been designated as a grade II* listed building by English Heritage and contains part of the Norman church which was restored in 1845 and the tower repaired in 1886.

The residents of Ashby cum Fenby are extremely proud of their village and work closely with their Parish Council to maintain the community for residents and visitors to enjoy, particularly the many country walks that are accessible from Ashby.

Please take extra care when walking through the village as the roads are very narrow and there are no footpaths, please keep your children safe and your pets under control at all time.

Remember the following:

  1. Please help us to keep the village tidy for everyone to enjoy, put all litter in one of the waste bins at either end of the village or take it home.
  2. Drive slowly past pedestrians on the narrow roads, especially if they have small children or animals. Vehicles driving at speed can frighten and cause small children and animals to move unpredictably into your path.
  3. If you are riding a bicycle through the village, please ensure that all pedestrians are aware of your presence, ring your bell if you have one!

Please enjoy our village and help us to make an enjoyable experience for everyone.

Many Thanks
